Chocolate Cake (without eggs or milk!)

This eggless and milkless chocolate cake is simple and delicious. The recipe was given to me by Karen Hanson. Thanks Mom!

  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 c. oil
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. cold water

Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl. Separately, mix the wet ingredients then add them to the dry. Mix quickly and pour into an oiled 9×9 inch, or 9 inch round, pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. Allow to cool in the pan. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or frost it if you like.
