Today’s Coconut Harvest

Every so often, a group of skilled tree climbers come knocking at our gate asking to harvest the coconuts from the several trees around our house. They climb like Mowgli in The Jungle Book and cut down the coconuts and dried palm leaves (used to make brooms). They pay us a small sum and give us a few coconuts to boot, the rest they take to sell in the market. Unfortunately, I don’t have a great coconut recipe, but we do drink the juice and eat the coconut meat when the harvesters come round.
